Students were in blind shield from board and education officials on what they are considering for them regarding final exams. Government pitched many ideas but didn’t made any conclusions till day before.

Today Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has announced that those students who have their results for Pakistan’s Students of 9th and 11th Will be promoted with 3% increase in Total.

“Exams for class 9 and 11 will not be conducted,” said the minister in a press conference after chairing a meeting of all education ministers. He added that a special exam will be carried out for students who are not satisfied with their grades in between September till November.

Mahmood stated that the students will be divided into four categories for the special exams.

“We are preparing a comprehensive policy to address all the major issues being raised by the students and parents. On Monday,after a final meeting, we will make our new policy related to exams public,” he said.

The minister explained that in the first category they have put those students who are not happy with their grade 11 results. He added that the second category is of those students who were planning to give the exams of two grades in one go.

Mahmood stated that the third category is of those kids who wish to improve their grade in some subjects, while the last category is of students who have failed in more than 40% of their exams.

The minister stated that those students who wish to give the special exams should inform their respective boards by July 1. Students will be able to sit for exam after board confirm its availability and students show an interest. Those students will have to wait for September – November for Special Exam in Pakistan different cities. While those students who have failed 40% of their subjects will be given with passing marks only – Federal Minister stated.
