Officials of the Khyber Agency Education Department paid surprise visits to several state-run schools in far-flung areas of Landikotal tehsil and found 10 teachers absent from duty, an official said on Monday.
Assistant Education Officer of Landikotal Hastam Khan told reporters they visited schools in Bazaar Zakhakhel, Loey Shalman and Sheenpokh areas. He said staff attendance registers were checked and 10 teachers and other staff members were found absent.
The official said on the demand of local people, the political agent had decided to open sub-office of the Education Department in Landikotal to keep a check on the staffers of schools located in the far-flung areas.He said stationery and other necessary items were also provided to the schools on the spot.
