1200 students of different disciplines get degrees at University of Agriculture

Agriculture University Peshawar Convocation 2013

Twelve hundred students University of Agriculture Peshawar were given Ph.D, M.Phil, M.Sc (Hons), MA, BA, B.Sc, BBA, BSCS, BSIT and MS degrees while 40 of them were given gold medals, forty silver and forty bronze medals for their distinctions.

The graduated students were given degrees during the 9th convocation of the varsity held at main library hall on Saturday. 

Director General of Pak-Turk School System Torgat and Principal of Pak-Turk School System Peshawar Alhan were the chief guest of the convocation. 

Addressing the students, Torgat advised the graduate to play their role for the wellbeing of their nation as well as for humanity. He said that Muslims were not enjoying the role in international politics as they used centuries earlier. Guest speaker added that graduate where go to field in the world should not compromise on national and religious interests but create a good image of Islam and own country. 

Dr. Khan Bahadar Marwat Vice Chancellor of the varsity in his speech to the audience congratulated the graduates and advised them to face the challenges and serve the nation in every field of life they work. 

Talking about the performance of University of Agriculture, VC said that 9087 MS, 6273 MS and 127 Ph.D graduates were produced so far by the varsity and ten thousand students were currently enrolled in UAP which include 3000 FATA and 200 students from Afghanistan. 

He said that varsity was the only providing graduates but many agriculturists have invented different verities of crops and enable farmers for producing more corps after the successful researches of varsity scholars. 

VC added that UAP was the leading university of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa in Higher Education Commission’s quality cell for producing more than 200 research papers.
