Entrance Test for Academic Session 2013-14 of the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar was successfully held on Sunday simultaneously at Islamia Collegiate and Cricket Ground, University of Peshawar, Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad, and Grassy Ground Saidu Sharif Swat.
The test was conducted by the Educational Testing and Evaluating Agency (ETEA) of Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Around fifteen thousand candidates from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including FATA, AJK and Gilgit Baltistan sat for the entrance test. The results of the test will be announced on 19th August, and available on ETEA website (www.etea.edu.pk).
At Peshawar Centre, a total of 11748 candidates appeared in the test with 11384 candidates for admission in engineering disciplines, and 364 candidates appeared for Computer Science group. At Abbottabad Centre among 1207 candidates, 1180 candidates appeared for engineering group, whereas 27 candidates for the computer science group while at Swat Centre, 2045 candidates appeared in the test with 2025 candidates for engineering disciplines, and 20 candidates appeared for Computer Science group in the entrance test. Altogether 522 female candidates and 14478 male candidates appeared in all centers.
The Vice Chancellor Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani, who was present on the occasion, expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements for the holding the Entrance Test. He said for the first time test was held at University of Peshawar at two places which has given candidates a much comfortable environment. Farah Hamid, Secretary Higher Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Additional secretary Higher Education Department KP, Dr. Khalid Khan also expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.
Mr. Abdur Rauf Jamil, Executive Director ETEA, Prof. Dr. Shad Muhammad, Director Academics, Khyber Medical University, Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Zahid Mehmood, Dean Faculty of Engineering (UET), Prof. Iftikhar Ahmad, Registrar (UET), and other senior faculty members were present on the occasion. Prof Javed Tajik Director Admissions made all possible efforts to make satisfactory arrangements for the entrance test. Under his supervision this time UET conducted online registration for candidates.
