2-day training on Orthotic Management of scoliosis ends

A two-day short training on orthotic management of scoliosis was successfully concluded here at Institute of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (IPMR) and Pakistan Institute of Prosthetics and Orthotics (PIPOS) KMU Peshawar.

The short training was organized by ISPO Pakistan in joint collaboration with IPMR and PIPOS, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.

The objective of the training was to acquire orientation regarding idiopathic scoliosis management in respect of multidisciplinary team approach and also to emphasize on orthotic management especially treatment with Cheanue spinal brace.

The event was addressed by President ISPO Pakistan Mr. Zia Ur Rahman who emphasized on the role and importance of ISPO Pakistan and on Continuous Medical Education (CME) and capacity building of professionals.

The renowned speakers from multidisciplinary team delivered fruitful lectures on the management of Idiopathic Scoliosis.

Dr. Shabir Awan, Orthopedic& spinal surgeon, Mazhar Hussain Tazagrami Consultant Prosthetist and Orthotist, Johar Ali Consultant Prosthetist and Orthotist & Muhammad Ibrahim Khan Physiotherapist shared their experience and knowledge regarding the Management of Idiopathic scoliosis.

Vice Chancellor Khyber Medical University, Prof.Dr Mohammad Hafiz Ullah, Muhammad Bin Afsar Jan Principle/Director IPMR and Aziz Ahmad Managing Director PIPOS honored the closing ceremony of the training.
