The Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences) would organize five-day training on financial management funded by Assessment and Strengthening Program – Lahore University of Management and Sciences (ASP-LUMS) for operational executives of Government of Pakistan (GOP).
The 26 GOP operational executives comprising Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Peshawar Electric Supply Company, University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar, Aik Hunar Aik Nagar, Water and Power Development Authority, National Database and Registration Authority, Auditor General Office, Higher Education Commission and Finance Department, would participate in the module.
The resource persons from both partnering institutes would deliver lectures on broad areas of financial management that include reporting and analysis, cost allocation and management frameworks, budgeting frameworks, capital budgeting practices, governance, control and accountability.
The LUMS partnered with IMSciences in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Institute of Business Administration Karachi and Sukkur for the five year United States Agency for International Development (USAID) project. The ASP was a five year USAID project responsible for expansion of services in strengthening and training of civil society organisations and employees of the Government of Pakistan.
