6 Girls Middles Schools Upgraded In Bajaur

In order to provide better education facilities to woman, the education deportment with the financial assistant of federal government has finished the work to upgrade six girls’ middle schools to the status of high schools in different areas of Bajaur Agency.

Talking to reporters during press briefing in his office here on Tuesday, Agency education officer Saeed Gull said that the local education department with the financial assistant of federal government and international donor agencies has recently completed the works of up gradation of six girls’ middle educational institutions to the statues of high schools.

He said that the girls’ schools which have been upgraded to the statues of High schools are government Girls middle school Raghan, Pahsat, Naray Tangi, Inayat kill, Bandagi and sharbatai. A total amount of Rupees 42.5 million has been spent on the construction of additional class rooms in each of these schools.

Mr Gull said that up gradation of these girls schools were the long standing demand of the tribesmen and their daughters which would help to bring positive change in women education in the agency particularly in the remote and backwards areas of the region.

The up gradation of girls’ schools in the agency was a tremendous effort for the improving women education in the agency which would not only help to provide better education facilities to the girls also help to enhance female literacy rate in the tribal region,” he added ,

He said that the education department has speed up its efforts to expand and consolidate girls’ education base in the agency and several girls educational institutions in different areas would be up gradated very soon.

Talking about the problems regarding the shortage of female teachers in the region, he said that shortage of female teachers the educational institutions is become a serious problems for the deportment and they using all of its efforts to resolve the problems on permanent base.

We aware about the problem of shortage of female staff in the educational institutions and the department have decided to take strict action against the teachers those who not interested in their job, “he said.

Replying to a question about the lack of science teachers in all the schools in general and female schools in specific he said that the education department was committed to provide teachers to fill the vacant posts the educational institutions and several teachers on temporary base will be appointed very soon

According to the source of education department around 300 girls schools in the agency are facing shortage of teachers and most staff of these girls schools were absent from their duty.
