Ad-hoc lecturers seek regularisation of services

The members of Ad-hoc Lecturers Association on Wednesday held a walk on the third day of their protest against the non-regularisation of their services.

Led by the association President Qazi Zafar Iqbal, Iqbal Shakir, Jamil Khan and others, the lecturers gathered outside the MPA Hostel.They were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands. They also blocked Sher Shah Suri Road for traffic causing problems to the motorists.

Speaking on the occasion, Qazi Zafar Iqbal said some 262 adhoc lecturers were recruited in 2010 in various colleges across the province. He said the government was yet to regularise their services, which the then senior minister had promised. The association leaders asked the government to regularise the services of adhoc lecturers or else they would continue their protest.
