Agriculture University Peshawar on Wednesday inked Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Regional Institute of Policy Research & Training (RIPORT) under which scholars of the varsity would develop their researches about different agriculture related topics for the irrigated area through Gomal Zam Dam.
Agriculture scholars would develop their researches about techniques of irrigation, techniques of cropping and rule regulations and information about soul erosion for the seven union councils of District Tank and three union councils of D.I.Khan.
Earlier addressing ceremony as a key speaker Dr. Khan Bahadar Marwat informed that 180 Ph.D thesis were under progress by students and faculty staff of the varsity.
Chief Executive of RIPORT Khalid Aziz, while briefing participants about Gomal Zam Dam said that it was a mega project which was irrigating 191,000 Acer land and producing 17.4 megavolt energy but unfortunately due to usage of centuries older techniques of farming and irrigation people of the area could not avail the required benefit form the dam.
