Expressing grave concern over their result, students of the Allama Iqbal Open University on Tuesday demanded of the university administration to redress their grievances by reviewing their MSc Pak Study third semester result, and save their future.
The concerned students alleged that a well-cooked conspiracy has been hatched against the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), because of its standard and especially due to easy access of the poor and in-service students to it. Talking to this scribe, a group of MSc Pak Study of the AIOU informed that most of their classmates hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province were failed in the 3rd semester of MSc Pak Study, while those declared successful were given very low marks, despite the fact that these students had got 1st division during the last two semesters, they lamented.
“Most of the students were failed in two papers, and those who qualified their exam were feared of affecting their 1st division in the overall examination, they said, adding that spread distress among the students concerned. “It seems that those the examiners didn’t bothered to check their papers and given marks on mere counting answer sheets’ pages, they alleged.
They also said that AIOU is a best facility for the poor students and especially for on-job students, whom may not be able to study regular but want to increase their academic qualification. The affected students also alleged that to declare the University a failure one in getting its real goal, a well planned conspiracy was hatched against it, that aimed to dishearten the students from AIOU education system and compel them on getting admission in private sector universities.
Though a large number of universities were established in both public and private sector, but in most of them standard of education was too much low, while the AIOU was an internationally well reputed institution, they argued. They were also alleged that most of the teachers in the public sector universities were also following discriminatory attitude with the students of the AIO University and checking of Pak Study 3rd semester papers’ was an ample proof, in which students of the private universities were get succeeded but only those of AIOU were failed.
