Teachers of Azad Panel on Sunday demanded fair and transparent elections of teachers association according to constitutions and strongly rejected, following the elections of All Teachers Association of Khyber Agency held few days back.
Gulab Din, president of Azad Panel, who addressed a press conference in Jamrud Press Club termed the earlier elections as selection and were against the constitution. He claimed his panel had several times expressed reservations over few points included partial election commission, no inclusion of female teachers in election and unavailability of polling stations in far-off areas.
However, the legal points we had raised were underestimated and not addressed and eventually Khudam Panel turned the selection into election, imposing like minded people on teachers in Khyber Agency. His panel would not accept the result of elections and rejected the formation of cabinet, Gulab stated.
The presiding officers prior to elections had ruled out performing duty against the partiality of election committee which is an obvious example, he argued. No fair and transparent elections took place and appealed official of various departments and local people, not to deal any matter pertaining to teachers with newly selected cabinet, president informed.
It is to be mentioned here that few days back elections of all teachers association of Khyber Agency had taken place and Khudam Panel had won the elections.
