Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar Prof Dr Muhammad Shafi Afridi Tuesday asked the administration of private schools to follow the criteria set for the examination fee.

In a press statement, the chairman stated that recently it had come into his notice that certain schools were charging extra amount other than the prescribed one, especially for class 9 & 10, in the name of examination fee.

He said in this connection, the board authorities paid surprise visits to various schools last week to check the veracity of the complaints regarding examination fee. He said an enquiry report was ready and proper punishment would be awarded to some schools whose owners were involved in charging extra amount from the students.

The BISE chairman asked the students and parents to submit their admission forms well on time as the last date with normal fee had been set for December 13, for the 9th Science (Rs1070), 9th Arts (Rs950), 10th Science (Rs1470) and 10th Arts (Rs1,350).

The chairman said that in case of undue demands by the school administration other than the above-mentioned fee or any complaint, the board authority could be approached at 091-9216262, Fax 091-9216264
