Book launching ceremony of ‘Peshawar Ke Fankar’ featuring profiles and biography of the actors of the soil was held here Thursday with Director Culture Mehmood Khan in the chair.
Book titled, ”Peshawar k Fankar” ( actors of Peshawar) was written by Muhammad Ibrahim Zia in collaboration with Culture Heritage Council (CHC) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The book consists of 563 pages and memorizes the lives of 72 famous actors’ singers of Peshawar who had passed away.
Speaking on the occasion, book writer Muhammad Ibrahim Zia said book is a result of his day night research that encompasses the lives of famous actors who are bring laurels to the province by excelling in their fields. He said the book narrates the struggles and extraordinary services of our Pakhtuns artists.
The function among others was also addressed by actor Ishrat Abbas, World Pashto Congress Central Vice President, Shahab Khattak Advocate, Culture Heritage Council General Secretary Shakil Wahidullah, Retired Press Information Department Director General, Iqbal Sikandar and a famous writer Younis Qiasi.
They demanded government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to protect the houses of Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapur. They also demanded to start a monthly stipend for deserving actors and singers who were busy in promoting culture of the province.
