Centenary Celebrations Begin in Islamia College Peshawar

The Centenary Celebrations of Islamia College Peshawar will formally open today i.e.  Monday 29th April 2013  with a grand ceremony   at the Governor House Peshawar whereby the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa/Chancellor of Islamia College Peshawar will formally inaugurate the marathon events. The function will be attended by dignitaries from  education, judiciary, government; faculty of the University, representative of students and senior alumni of Islamia College Peshawar. A landmark feature of the opening ceremony will be the formal launching of  the official anthem of Islamia College Peshawar written by Prof. Dr. Abdus Salam Khalis, to become a permanent feature of all the following functions.

Subsequently, many events of wide range have been arranged at different intervals throughout the year. These include Grand Students and Teachers Day, Academic and Research Related Functions, Literary and Artistic Events, Sports Galas, Reunions of alumni and retired Faculty and Functions meant for paying tributes to the founders and benefactors of this great institution. The events will culminate in a grand Convocation, the first in the history of this College as a University.
