He said all has been left on the discretionary powers of the universities’ management to give good results. He said that they are fully aware of the situation created by the previous governments in which even the sensitive matters of basic and higher education were not forgiven.

In universities, he said appointments of vice chancellors were made on personal and political affiliation basis, which besides resulting in creation of mismanagement turned the universities into the rings of politics and the innocent students and their poor parents became the victims.

The chief minister said that he is happy that the working group had wisely worked out matters from appointment of vice chancellors, other matters for bringing transparency in universities and their purging of politics. He said the purpose of the inclusion of the experts of sectors concerned in working group was getting better guidance and hidden corners of the subject. He said the top priority of the PTI led coalition government is abolition of class-based- dual standard of education and enforcement of unified English medium education and mainstream the people to enable them for countering changes and challenges occurred in the world. He said that instead of merely building schools and colleges, they wanted the establishment of actual education, research and creative institutes and beside proficiency in science and technology also increased the research and productive capabilities of youth.

He said that under their education programme, besides increasing the number of colleges and universities, they would be turned into real cradles of knowledge and skill.
