The students of the College of Home Economics (CHE) showcased handmade embroidery and artwork at the one day funfair/ Art and craft exhibition organized in the college lawn on Tuesday.
Some fifty stalls were on display in the daylong colorful event and were witnessed by female students of the constituent colleges and departments of the University of Peshawar. Mrs. Tasneem Hameed the former faculty members of the College of Home Economics formally inaugurated the fair. She was joined by Principal CHE Prof. Dr. Kaneez Fatima Haider, Prof. Dr. Ghazala Nizam and others.
The chief guest along with other faculty members visited the stalls and appreciated the creative work done by the students. Addressing the students in a ceremony the chief guest termed the event as a wonderful opportunity in providing healthy academic cum entertainment facility to the students, besides showcasing their artwork to the general public for further marketing.
Principal Prof. Dr. Kaneez Fatima shared that the college has been imparting quality home economics education to the female students of the province and adjoining FATA for almost six decades. She added the students are equipped to become entrepreneur of the future and become a job provider than job seekers in the college. It is worthwhile that the Funfair was joint effort of the students and teachers of the college including Ms. Kanwal Imran, Ms. Abeera Ilyas and Ms. Madeeha Aman.
