Dare and do it by Young Women Writers’ Forum Peshawar

Young Women Writers’ Forum Peshawar chapter held an event, “Dare and Do it,” on account of Women’s Day at  the Department of English, Islamia College Peshawar on Monday, 14th March, 2016. The event comprised of an on the spot poetry and story writing competition in both English and Urdu language. The winners received autographed books as prizes by the senior writers at the event. Judges for English were Dr. Humaira Aslam and Ms. Sanaa Malaikah Noor while for Urdu the judges were Ms. Atiya Hidayat Ullah, Mrs. Bushra Farrukh and Ms. Nazia sahar. All the participants were awarded certificates.  All the activities were supervised by Mrs. Bushra Iqbal Malik from Erfurt, Germany who happens to be the founder of PWWF and YWWF. The event was a tribute to the struggle of local women which oftentimes go unnoticed. The event began with the introduction of the forum and its partner IDEAS who sponsored the event, by the president of YWWF Ms. Marina Mahsud. The introduction was followed by the writing competition, afterwards several tributes were presented by Ms. Mahnoor Hayat, Ms. Saima Feroz, Ms. Sidra Amin, Ms. Hira Nazir, Ms. Urooj Siddique, Ms. Ambar Siddique and Ms. Asma javaid . The vote of thanks was given by Ms. Duaa Mujeeb whereas Ms.Neelum Afridi conducted the event throughout. The chief guest of the event was Ms. Rakshanda Naz who appreciated the endeavors of the cabinet of Young Women Writers’ Forum. Dr. Salma Masood (Director LIMS), Ms. Samina Qadir(President PWWF), Ms. Bushra Farrukh(a renowned poet of Pakistan), Ms. Marina Mehsud(President YWWF, Peshawar) were also present. At the end Ms. Marina Mehsud also presented bouquets to chief guests and judges. The names of the winners are enlisted as:
