Debate and Poetry contest was organized at Islamia College University on the occasion of Annual Pushto Day (Thursday) in Khyber Union Hall on Thursday.
Iqbal Saneem Khatak presided over the contest while Dr. Zubair Hasrat, Faqir Mohammad, Shahab Aziz, Zeenat Kalsoom, Zar Mohammad Sangar and Zafar Khan Zafar acted as judges.
Irfanullah got consolation prize for presenting best debate while Wagma Ayub Khatak got first, Irshad got second and Omar Iqbal Khalid got third position in debates.
In Poetry competition Isha Iqbal and Kashif Khan declared Poet of Campus by getting first position in poetry while Irshad Irshad got second while Waqma Ayube Khatak received third position in poetry contest. Appreciation certificates along cash money were distributed among best participants of the contest.
Meanwhile, the constituent institutes of UoP, University Model School for boys and University Public School to remain closed from December 26th to December 29th in annual winter vacations.
