Debate, study tour, entertainment activities planned for KP Youth

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Sports, Tourism, Archaeology, Museums and Youth Affairs has planned an innovative program called “Youth Carnival” which has been much publicized in the last few weeks.

The program includes youth related events e.g. debates, Competitions, Study Tours, entertainment activities, leadership conferences and students exchange programs.

One of the activities that are managed by the Directorate of Archaeology is themed as “Cultural Heritage Awareness Program”, says a press release issued here on Sunday.

This activity includes study tours of different institutes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to heritage and archaeological sites. Two institutes took part in this, the first was Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University and the second took place today and was Government Comprehensive Higher Secondary School Dabgari Peshawar to Julian Monastery and Nikra Bungalow District Haripur.

The focal person for the said activities is Mr. Nawaz ud din, who appreciated the decision of the department and felt that students learn more through these study tours then in class room.

The Secretary Tourism stated in this regard “The youth of our province has been deprived and have suffered immensely through the natural and manmade calamities of the past few years. 

This is an opportunity for them not only to showcase their skills through the competitions that will be held in April 2014 but also to educate themselves through these fun filled study tours.” He further added that “many of our younger generation have never even heard of these sites that is why we are corresponding with their institutes to give them this opportunity”.

The Secretary also appreciated the efforts of Deputy Secretary Muhammad Ali Shah and Additional Secretary Taseer Jamal Alizai along with the whole department who have worked hard since months on this program and very soon their efforts will be fruitful.
