Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engr Shaukatullah Khan, has said that education is the only key to success as it provides solid foundation for a developed nation and prosperous
generation.
He added that the role of educated and active generation in this respect of was great importance. This, he stated, while addressing the 18th Parents Day function of Garrison Cadet College Kohat, on Saturday.
Addressing the function, the Governor maintained that the Government was fully realizing the fact and its responsibility and all-out efforts were being made for the bright future of the nation in line with wishes and expectations of
the masses.
He said that being the student of this prestigious institution was a great honor but its credit goes to the parents as well as administration and faculty of the college also.
Engr. Shaukatullah called upon the cadets to prepare themselves for the future challenges and fully concentrate on their study during their stay in the college for this very important purpose. He added, no doubt if the cadets maintained the same high discipline and struggle for acquiring higher education, the desired dream of success could be materialized in true letter and spirit.
The Governor continued that it was his heartiest desire that this prestigious institution should go forward in the same way on the path of advancement and play its due role in the rapid development of the country. He on this occasion announced Rs. One million grant for the Garrison Cadet College Kohat. Earlier, the Governor gave away prizes and trophies to the best students of the college.
Principal of the College, Brig. Munawar Alam presented the annual progress report and also highlighted curricular and extra-curricular activities of the college in detail.
Cadet Abdul Hadi was declared best in academics and Cadet Haider Ali best sportsman while Cadet Uzair Khalid got the coveted prize of overall best cadet of the year. Ayubi House clinched the champion house trophy.
Besides others, the function was also attended by MNA Shehryar Afridi, ex Governor Lt.Gen (R) Arif Bangash, Major General Nadeem Raza, Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Jamal-ud-Din Shah and parents in large number was also present.
