Ex-Chairman BISE DIKhan arrested in illegal land purchase case

National Accountability Bureau Today arrested accused Noor Muhammad, Assistant Professor (BPS-19) at Gomal University in the case of illegal land purchase for B.I.S.E. D.I.Khan at exorbitant rates. 

Accused Noor Muhammad in his capacity as Chairman Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, D.I.Khan had purchased the land. The NAB team arrested the accused after conducting a successful raid, with prompt help and assistance of local Police, at a guest house in Abbottabad

Earlier another co-accused Abdul Mateen Qasuria the then Deputy District Officer Revenue presently Secretary District Public Safety and Police Complaint Commission D.I.Khan was also arrested in the same case. 

The process of investigation established that Ex-Chairman BISE, D.I.Khan by misusing his authority, purchased private land directly in sheer violation of land acquisition Act 1984 and against the laid down rules and clear instructions of the Provincial Government at exorbitant rates in connivance with other accused, causing huge loss to national exchequer. 

It is pertinent to mention that without securing title and possession of the land, the Government money was transferred and kept in the account of the land owner, causing loss to the state. 

The NAB in this case has already recovered Rs. 72.0 million from the private land owner through voluntary return under section 25 of National Accountability Ordinance. 

The accused will be produced today before the Accountability court for obtaining physical remand. Investigation is under process and further startling disclosures are expected.
