A 55% discount is being offered on the purchase of all books on display at a three-day book fair which started at the University of Peshawar (UoP) on Tuesday.

UoP Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan inaugurated the fair in the lawn of the Sheikh Muhammad Taimur Academic Block of the university. He was accompanied by the International Relations department’s chairperson, Professor Adnan Sarwar, and Professor Dr Nasreen Ghufran.

While speaking at the occasion, Professor Jan said: “Reading is the key to success and books are a great source of knowledge.”

The vice chancellor urged students to take advantage of the discount on books and to build a reading habit. “Reading paves the way for a comprehensive learning process and instils peace in oneself,” said the VC.

Nearly 3,000 students attended on the first day and browsed through the various books on display, ranging from literature, social science and natural science subjects.
