The FATA Students Federation have demanded of the government to announce a special package for the militancy-affected tribal students, increase existing quota in educational institutions of settled areas and ensure basic facilities for tribal students in schools and colleges in tribal region.
Addressing a news conference here at Peshawar Press Club on Monday, the FATA Students Federation (FSF) Central President, Khan Bahadur Wazir, said that the incumbent government has failed to take any proactive steps for promotion of education in tribal region. He said that education sector in Fata is the worst affected during the prolonged military operations and insurgency.
Referring to a survey of the Directorate of Education Fata, Wazir said more than 224,000 students were out of schools only in Fata due to lack of proper buildings and other facilities. While, about 30 per cent parents were not sending their children to schools.
