Activists of the Fata Students Union, Agriculture University, on Tuesday asked the government to release their fellows or else they would launch a protest campaign.

Speaking at a press conference here, president of the union Abid Afridi said on the pressure of the provincial government, the varsity administration targeted innocent students belonging to the tribal areas and sent them jail in the aftermath of clashes between two student groups at the University of Peshawar campus. He alleged that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government put pressure on the varsity administration to appease one of its allied partners.
