The four-day 5th annual research conference was concluded here at Khyber Girls Medical College (KGMC) where participants stressed upon the need of research based knowledge, and research development in health sector
The conference was organized by Khyber Medical University (KMU) with the theme of “Today’s Research Tomorrow’s Health”.
In this conference besides oral and poster presentations a quiz competition was also arranged.VC KMU Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hafizullah, Registrar Dr. Fazal Mahmood, Director ORIC Prof. Dr. Mukhtiar Zaman, faculty, principals of various medical colleges, researchers and a huge number of students were participants of the moot.
Addressing the concluding session of the conference as chief guest, the Provincial Secretary Health Ghulam Qadir appreciated the efforts of KMU for organizing such an event and said that research based activities at universities level open new vistas of life.
He suggested that such activities should also be arranged in medical institutes located in far flung areas of the province, adding that department of health would facilitate KMU for the purpose.
He deplored that not a single university of Pakistan is among the top 500 universities of the world and said that it is time to promote research based education and professional training.
The Secretary hoped that KMU with its various initiatives in would attain the status of best university of the world.
Later, he distributed prizes and certificates among position holders of different sessions of the moot.
