Friends Group win Puta polls

Friends group swept the Peshawar University Teachers Association) PUTA elections 2012-13 on Thursday. Jameel Ahmed was elected as the president of PUTA for the second time around. 

Friends group fought against United teachers group comprising of Tanzeem asatza, Progressive and Azad group but could not garner support from the academics to win important slots. Friends group bagged eleven out of thirteen seats. The president, general secretary, joined secretary, finance, sports and literary. 

Anwer Alam of the united group was elected as the vice president of the association. Friends group also won three out of four executive member seats with Imtiaz Ali, Roohullah and Gulsher. It is the second year in the running where the ANP backed Friends Group have won the annual elections of PUTA with majority.
