Gallup Pakistan Chief visits Pakistan Study Centre, University Of Peshawar.

Prof. Dr. Ijaz Shafi Gilani, Chairman Gallup Pakistan visited Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar 0n 14th November 2014. Besides exchange of views with Director Pakistan Study Centre Dr. Fakhr-ul-Islam on research and academic issues, he delivered a lecture to the staff students of the Centre.

In his speech, he apprised the participants about role and activities of Gallup Pakistan. He said that both Gallup Pakistan and Pakistan Study Centre can work on joint projects. Dr. Gilani highlighted importance of Pakistan Studies subject and said that in the coming years, colleges and universities will be needing more and more graduates of this subject to teach to BS 4-year programmes. He said that curriculum of Pakistan Studies needs revamping so as to bring it at par with demands of the modern world. Earlier Dr. Fakhr-ul-Islam welcomed the guest and gave his brief introduction. He said that Dr. Gilani received his PhD degree in Political Science, from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA in 1977. He taught in Quaid-e-Azam and Islamic universities Islamabad. He founded Gallup Pakistan in 1980. Gallup is considered the country’s largest and oldest research institution. He also performed as Advisor to the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Committee for Research and Analysis
