The Muttahida Talaba Mahaz, a joint platform of the students’ organisations, on Monday accused the Government College Peshawar administration of funds’ embezzlement and mismanagement and asked the Ministry of Education high-ups to remove the officials involved in the illegal practices.

Addressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club, provincial president of the organisation Munsif Ali Khan, Muslim Khan, Gul Sattar and others alleged that the college administration has embezzled Rs4 million from the college fund. The students said the college lacked civic amenities and even cold water was not available at the college during the summer and sweltering heat.

They said the college students had brought the funds’ embezzlement and mismanagement issue into the knowledge of Education Department high-ups but to no avail. They alleged the college principal has employed his relatives in the college and termed this injustice with the local residents. The students demanded the education minister to take note of the alleged mismanagement and funds’ misappropriation in the college.
