Govt plans 8 mega projects for higher education

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken practical steps to promote higher and university education in the province.

According to official sources‚ the government has planned eight mega projects focusing on construction of academic blocks‚ purchase of vehicles for the students and additional land for building infrastructure in the public sector universities.

Sources add that the government has decided to expand the University of Malakand. For this purpose‚ it will purchase additional land for construction of new academic blocks at a cost of 140 million rupees.

The governments will also complete remaining construction work of academic blocks at University of Hazara with an estimated cost of 60 million rupees during the current fiscal year.

Purchase of buses for Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Women University Peshawar‚ University of Swat‚ and University of Science and Technology Bannu has also been approved.
