Review Panel for University performance Evaluation constituted by Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad has completed their visit in Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar. It was three days visit and purpose of the visit was to evaluate the University on Institutional Performance Evaluation Standards (IPES).
There were six members in the team i.e Dr. Amir Ijaz, Director QEC, University of Punjab Lahore (Head of the Panel), Professor Dr. Farmanullah, Director QEC Agriculture University Peshawar, Muhammad Taimur Khan (Former Director QEC, University of Peshawar), Prof. Dr. Riaz Ahmed Director QEC Pir Mahar Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, Muhammad Shoaib Project Director Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) HEC, Miss Humaira Qudus Assistant Director QAA, HEC Islamabad.
In this tree days visit panel also met with the Head of Institutes and Sections, Faculty members of constituents Institutes and Students of all programs. Purpose of this visit was to identify the areas for improvement and its remedial actions by the University so that quality Graduates should produce. Staff of Quality Enhancement Cell of KMU facilitated the team for completion of their agenda.
On the third day Review panel met with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hafizullah, Vice Chancellor KMU. In the exit meeting Prof. Dr. Amir Ijaz (Head of Team) appreciated the efforts and initiatives taken by KMU and dedication of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the University.
Prof. Dr. Amir Ijaz lauded the KMU academic and research activities and stressed upon more co-curricular as well as students grooming activities. He hoped that KMU under the dynamic leadership of its energetic and excellently organized VC will not only flourish more in due course of time but it would ensure to meet all the standards and challenges set by HEC at all levels.
While highlighting the achievements made by KMU in various fields Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hafizullah said that by establishing institutes in various disciplines of health like basic medical sciences, public health, physiotherapy, nursing, paramedics, MBBS, BDS and health profession education, KMU is not only progressing towards its targets goals but it will also become a leading medical university of the region in the near future.
He said KMU students are well behaved and dedicated and they will become good citizens of the society. He said KMU has sent 20 PhD scholars abroad in different subjects and after their return KMU will become one of the best universities of the country. At BS four years program level we are focusing on communication skills as well as overall character building of the students, he added. At the end prof. Dr. Mohammad Hafizullah awarded souvenir to all the members of Review Panel on their sincere efforts and time given for this healthy activity.
