IMS to launch diploma program

Director IMSciences, Dr. Muhammad Mohsin met Mr. Javed Khattak at the Institute of Management Sciences, Peshawar. The meeting was attended by Ms. Shabana Gul, Coordinator Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC) and Mr. Abdul Ghaffar, Deputy Coordinator EDC, as well. The two institutions are already working under the MoU and agreed to further strengthen the working relationship with each other. Mr. Javed Khattak discussed the declining fate of industrial base in the region and stressed on the need for more research and capacity building of the industries in the region to enable the SMEs to sustain the tough times and grow. Dr. Mohsin shared the research and consultancy done by IMSciences and offered its support in the areas for the larger benefit of the society.

To enhance industry-academia linkages IMSciences offered its services to work on the capacity building of the industrial units in the Industrial Estate Peshawar and proposed SMEDA to provide funding for the purpose from Enterprise Rehabilitation KP and FATA (ERKF). Later on, Mr. Javed Khattak assured his support for strengthening the capacity of incubated ideas at EDC. The meeting ended with an understanding of launching a joint diploma program in entrepreneurship in which IMSciences will provide trainers whereas SMEDA will provide logistics and financial support for the program.
