Like other parts of the country, 136th birth anniversary of poet philosopher Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal was celebrated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA on Saturday. Allama Iqbal envisioned the idea of a separate homeland for the Muslims of subcontinent‚ which led to the creation of Pakistan. Various educational‚ political‚ social and cultural organizations have arranged special programs to portray Iqbal’s philosophy‚ life and his contribution to create awareness among the Muslims of South Asia. The Iqbal day related functions were held at all the district and divisional headquarters across the province and agency headquarters in the tribal areas with renewed pledge and zeal. Radio Pakistan, Pakistan Television and other channels broadcast and telecast special programs on the occasion of Iqbal Day.
