IT parks to strengthen software industry: Hoti

Chief Minister Khyber Pakthunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said that establishment of IT Parks would help strengthen the information technology and software industry in the province besides benefitting thousands of youth in getting dignified jobs.

He said this while chairing 4th meeting of Information Technology Board here on Thursday. The Chief Minister also constituted a committee to select site for the construction of building for the proposed of IT Park in Peshawar. 

The CM lauded the efforts of the Board for setting up of IT Centres at Union Council level in the KPK.

Under the USAID project, eight IT Centres would be set up in Malakand Division generating at-least five thousands posts of the IT experts. The meeting also agreed to expand the sites of the IT parks in Peshawar and Abbotabad and formed a committee to this effect.

The Chief Minister said setting up of IT parks was a part of special initiatives his government has taken for creating job opportunities and accelerating economic activities in the province. The government welfare measures for poverty alleviation have started yielding positive results which have been widely acknowledged by cross section of the society.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Information Technology Muhammad Ayub Khan Asharai, Chief Secretary Ghulam Dastagir, Secretary Finance Sahibzada Saeed, Secretary Science and Technology Ahmed Hassan, MD IT Board Usman Arbab, and Director Marketing Shahnaz Shamsher Meanwhile, General Manager SNGPL Muhammad Haroon leading a team called on the Chief Minister and discussed with him gas projects underway in the province.

The Chief Minister stressed upon the SNGPL officials to take care of the problems facing the people due to gas load-shedding.
