Students of Khyber Medical College are facing accommodation problems as current number of hostels were not sufficient for large number of students belonging to remote areas of the province, students complained while talking with The Frontier Post on Friday.
Najeebullah students of fourth year in MBBS said the number of hostels were never increased since the college came into being while the number of students had doubled. He added that more than five students were accommodated in a single room which was problematic because there was no privacy as well as the space was not enough for so many students per room.
Another students Hassam uddin Rehan informed that Health Minister Syed Zahir Ali Shah had promised to build new hostel for the students of college but the promise was not kept. Students said that local students were allotted hostels while students belonging to remote areas were ignored.
They demanded that the concerned authorities should build new hostels to accommodate so many students.
