Khyber Medical University (KMU) has constituted an Emergency Advisory Team comprising medical experts to visit Swat for treatment against Dengue fever. The team would meet officials of health department in the district to give them guideline how to control dengue fever. A press release of the university said here on Monday that Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Hafeezullah summoned an emergency meeting on the directives of provincial health minister and discussed outbreak of dengue fever measures to control it.
The meeting also formed a body comprising representatives of public health and nursing expert under the supervision of Director Research Professor Dr. Mukhtiar Zaman to visit Swat. The body would visit Saidu Teaching Hospital, Saidu Medical College Swat, Press Club and the health department to give them necessary guidelines how to control dengue fever and precautionary measures in this regard. The body would also draft its recommendations for provincial government to take future steps, the press release said.
Medical equipment dispatched: Following the directives of Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Shaukatullah, FATA Health Services Monday dispatched medical equipment and staff to Mingora to control outbreak of Dengue in Swat and surrounding areas. Director Health Services FATA, Dr. Pervaiz Kamal told that staff of Malaria Control Programme and two modern fog machines have been deployed to take precautionary measures.
He said that District Health Officer and Assistant Commissioner Swat will deploy the staff in area most affected, adding that the medical staff and equipment will operate in the area for a week.
