The Senate of Khyber Medical University presided over by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engr Shaukatullah approved the extension in service of the incumbent vice chancellor of the University, Prof Dr Hafizullah for the second term of four years, besides approving its actual budget for the year, 2011-12.
The Senate also approved dealing a member of administrative and financial matters pertaining to provision of incentives and facilities of routine nature for the employees and academicians, which are already available to the government officials and staff of other public sector universities.
Governor Engineer Shaukatullah who is also the chancellor of the Khyber Medical University presided over the 6th meeting of its Senate at Governor’s House, Peshawar on Tuesday.
Besides the provincial caretaker minister for Health Dr Farrukh Sair, who also acts as pro-vice chancellor of the university; a representative of Higher Education Commission and the respective members, the meeting was also attended by provincial secretaries of the health, higher education, establishment and finance departments.
The meeting was also apprised about the pace of progress of the institution both from the academic and infrastructure development point of views and noted with appreciations that the it is heading forward ambitiously in all respects.
