KP to establish 2 more Home Economics Colleges: Minister

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Higher Education, Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani Tuesday said the government has started various development projects all over the province to tap the indigenous potential.

Addressing as a chief guest in 2nd Annual Exhibition of Art and Design Department arranged by College of Home Economics, University of Peshawar, the Minister said, there is no dearth of talent in our province we only need conducive environment to promote that innate potential.

The crafts and creation in an off shoot of Home Economics Education, it is the need of the day to be well prepared to face the challenges lying ahead, being furnished with the knowledge of domestic management as well as commercial arts, home economic are in the better position to judge, change and shape their destiny.

The Minister said the college of Home Economics has not only produced highly accomplished daughters, wives and mothers but also young, successful professionals, they are not only equipped to prove their abilities in domestic sphere but also in marketplace by commercializing their creative art.

Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani said the government is going to establish a two new Home Economics Colleges in Peshawar and Nowshera districts. Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar, Dr. Rasool Jan, Dean Faculty of Information Technology and Management Sciences, Dr. Bushra, and Principal of College of Home Economics Dr. Syeda Kaneez Fatima were also present on this occasion. Later the Minister inspected the art work of the students and he appreciated them on their creation.
