KTH starts life support training

Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) has started Empress Razia Sultana Basic Life Support (BLS), Acute Cardiac Live Support (ACLS) and Acute trauma live support (ACLS) training program dedicated to Malala Yousafzai on Saturday.

The aim of the course was to give awareness among the community, Practioner and doctors about the basic aid to be given to the patients before reaching them to the hospital.

A batch of eight candidate were trained on Saturday  in BLS measures including Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and by the end of the training a written test was conducted which was subsequent to a pre-test, most of the candidate improved their result as compared to pre-test which meant success of the course and keen interest of the participants.

Dr.Talat Naz stood first position in the course and awarded crest of the hospital from the chief Executive Dr.Umar Ayub Khan.

On the occasion Dr.Umar Ayub said that in the light of insurgency in the province including rapidly increasing terrorist activities, these kinds of courses are of cardinal importance and KTH become the first pioneer hospital to start these courses.

Dr. Umar added that most of the patients were died before reaching the hospital and the aim of this training to reduce the death casualties and trained the individuals to how aid to be given to the patients in emergency that his life would be survive, adding that indeed this training would survived many lives.

He also added that the training series would continuo and at least hundred participants would be entertained in the training in two months.
