The spring plantation campaign started at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar with the aim of a greener and cleaner campus.
The provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mr. Jamshaid Ud Din inaugurated the campaign of tree plantation by planting a sapling in the lawn of Administrative Block at Main Campus.
He was accompanied by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana.
The Vice Chancellor, brief him that target for this year’s drive is to plant 1000 trees in the campus. For meeting the target fruit bearing and plants of medicinal importance are purchased.
She added that with the promotion of green economy, losses caused by the natural and anthropological disasters can be avoided.
The chief guest visited the various Departments and appreciated the efforts and progress of the University despite its limited resources.
