A scholar of the Department of Pharmacy, University of Peshawar, successfully defended his PhD thesis.Samiullah completed his research under the supervision of Dr Fazal Subhan and co-supervision of Dr Syed Mohammad Sultan.
He has developed sustained release (SR) tablets of selected anti-psychotic drugs, including olanzapine and prochlorperazine, and evaluated their safety and efficacy in humans with schizophrenia.
Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that needs lifelong treatment and frequent dosing of anti-psychotics, which results in non-compliance, as the patient cannot adhere to the strict and frequent dosing schedule that results in psychotic reversion, re-hospitalisation and frequent clinical visits
