The University of Peshawar College for Boys (UCB) has been given the status of a constituent college of UoP in the last meeting of senate of varsity, and the faculty must get enough motivation from it to make the college as a top institute in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said Vice Chancellor UoP Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rasul Jan in his address to the annual prize distribution ceremony of the UCB. He said that the college has shown excellent results in the past two years, adding that the University was focusing on providing bordering facilities with sound faculty, so as to attract the best students of KP and FATA for admission in the college. Fifteen outstanding students were awarded twenty thousand rupees each for distinction in academics in the ceremony. A declamation contest on the topic, “ Main tu Sharminda Hoon Is Daur Ka Insan Ho Kar“ (I feel ashamed to be a human of this age) was held on the day in which students criticized human`s for shedding blood of their own beings. Azaz arshad student of class first year got first position in the declamation contest. Earlier the Principal of the college Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ishaq said that last year seven UCB students got admission in Medical College while fifteen former University College for Boys students were given admission in Engineering University reveals the fact that the college is coming up. He thanked the Vice Chancellor for making efforts in making UCB as a constituent institute of the University College for Boys.
