PUTA okays Rs 2.5m annual budget

Peshawar University Teachers Association (PUTA) in its general body meeting held in Khyber Law College, University of Peshawar on Monday approved proposed budget for the year 2012-13.

Total outlay of the budget is 2.5 million rupees as compared to previous year outlay of 1.6 million rupees. The major policy statement regarding next year Golden Jubilee celebrations was also unveiled in the session. The PUTA was established in the year 1962.

The PUTA is going to mark next year as full-fledged celebrations year starting from executive’s alumni, International conference on teacher’s association’s role in promoting higher education, national level mushaira, and academic expo-exhibition of 48 university departments, Jameel Ahmed President of PUTA said while addressing the general body meeting. Jameel Ahmed Chitrali thanked the academic fraternity for electing him for the second time on the trot. He termed white papers as black papers as they were anonymous and has not any credibility from whatsoever quarters.
