A high-level meeting of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided early start of the reconstruction of 17 schools of tehsil Bahrain, Swat destroyed in the devastated flood of 2010. The schools would be constructed according to international standard. The meeting held in Islamabad besides, Advisor to the Speaker, Provincial Assembly, Coordinator Donors’ Coordination Cell, CM Secretariat, Professor M. Abbas Khan, Chief Planning Officer, Foreign Donors/PaRSSA, Ghazanfar Karim Kundi, Deputy Commissioner, Swat, Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Additional Assistant Commissioner, Bahrain (Swat) Shahid Khan and senior officials of a friendly donor country also attended.
The meeting was informed that land has been acquired and handed over to the department of education for the construction of all 17 schools. Construction work on six schools would be started immediately while work on remaining schools would also start soon. The construction of these schools has become possible due to the special interest of the chief minister, whose personal efforts persuaded donor agencies for it.
The CM, KP, Pervez Khattak and Provincial Minister for Education, M. Atif Khan has expressed heartiest happiness over the approval of these schemes, adding the promotion of education is among the top priorities of the provincial government.
