The activists of the Fata Students Union (FSU), Kurram Students Federation (KSF) and Chamkani Union on Tuesday staged protest against the alleged highhandedness of the officials of the Shah Qabool Police Station.

Led by Chamkani Union president Rafiullah and president FSU Shaukat Aziz, the protesters chanted slogans against the officials of the Shah Qabool Police Station and blocked the busy Sher Shah Suri Road for traffic.

Speaking to the protesters, Shaukat Aziz said the cops deployed at the police station were creating hurdles for the tribal people and accused them of unjustified arrest of the tribesmen. “The cops arrested a known social worker, Gul Nasir, along with five other tribesmen despite having national identity cards yesterday,” he said.

He said the unnecessary arrest of the tribesmen had created serious concern among the people of tribal areas. They demanded Chief Minister Tariq Pervez, Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Dost Mohammad Khan and Governor Shaukatullah to take note of the issue.
