Thousand aspirants throng for ICP teaching positions

The screening test, teaching demonstration and interviews for teaching staff recruitment on engagement basis under a new policy to appoint the best teachers continued at the historic Islamia College University, Peshawar on the second consecutive day. From the current academics session to be started off in the second week of September in the University, the Islamia College Peshawar administration has launched a new procedure for the appointment of young, energetic and competent teachers for its more than 15 teaching departments where the teaching staff was short of requirements, to impart best education to the students. Many hundreds young degree holder boys and girls having MA, BS, MS, M. Phil and PhD degrees have been in competition for over 40 already advertised vacant positions of engaged-teacher in more than 15 sciences and social sciences departments. Around a thousand candidates appeared in screening test and teaching demonstration. As per schedule, the process of recruitment would continue till August 31 and those coming up on merit would be appointed as engaged teachers. The selectees would be given teaching work with the beginning of teaching activity in Islamia College for Girls in the first week and in the University in the second week of September.
Meanwhile Vice Chancellor Islamia College Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Qibla 
Ayaz, Registrar, Professor Dr. Sareer Badshah and other senior officials of the University visited the test and demonstration center at the ICP and expressed satisfaction on the recruitment procedure.
