Train the Trainers Programme Nine Months Certificate Course for In-service Lecturers of Varsity Concluded at UoP

The nine months certificate course for the in-service lecturers of the University of Peshawar concluded. The training was arranged under the auspices of the Centre for Human Resource and Career Development (CHRCD) UoP, wherein thirty teachers of the some twenty five department of varsity participated.

Vice Chancellor UoP Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rasul Jan was the chief guest of the concluding ceremony while Director CHRCD Prof. Dr. Jamshid and the concerned resource persons were also present on the occasion.

During the training teachers were imparted skills in compliance with classroom management, presentation skills and friendly use of modern information tools, said Director Centre for Human Resource and Career Development Prof. Dr. Jamshid Ali in his opening remarks in the ceremony. He added that the training was aimed at enabling the teachers to enhance their management skills and demonstrate interactive methods of teaching to the students.

Although teachers  hired in the higher education institutions gets no  formal teaching training but varsity was mindful of the need for the same, and are imparting training to them under the platform of CHRCD, said Vice Chancellor UoP Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rasul Jan in his address. He said that teachers should take lead in becoming role model for the students and community and work beyond any monetary benefits to give best quality teaching to the students.

The modern definition of education is meant to bring reforms in the life of an individual while the teachers should take lead in finding informal ways of teaching and reduce the growing distance between student and the teacher, said the Vice Chancellor.
