Tributes paid to Khushal Khan Khattak

Writers and poets paid rich tributes to the great Pushto poet Khushal Khan Khattak in a literary seminar held under the auspices of Pakistan Academy of Letters Peshawar Chapter(PALP). 

The function was presided over by Mr.Abdul Hameed, Chairman Pakistan Academy of Letters, Islamabad while Syed Aqil Shah, minister for Sport, Tourism and Archives Department participated in the function as chief guest. On this occasion prominent writers and intellectuals highlighted the life, works and achievements of Khushal Khan Khattak through their papers and speeches. 

They termed him a great reformer and a national hero who had a great love and respect for the humanity. He fully used his pen for the promotion of Pushto language and literature with full devotion. 

His valuable writings both in prose and verse carry the message of peace, equality, patriotism, unity, courage and honesty which is a key to our all problems if followed by us in letter and spirit. 

Those who spoke on the occasion included Said Wali Khayal Mohmand, Dr.Iqbal Naseem Khattak, Dr Rajwali Shah Khattak and Prof Mustafa Kamal while famous poets Dr Nazeer Tabbasum (Urdu), Z.I.Athar(Hindko), Muazam Jan Muazam and Khan Muhammad Tanha (Pushto) offered their poetic tributes to the writer concerned on his matchless services rendered to the Pushto language and literature.

World Music Freedom Day today:  The Culture Journalists Forum will celebrate the World Music Freedom Day today on Sunday March 3 at 2 pm at the hall of the Spring Village hall located on University Road, Peshawar.

Senior and young artistes, singers and music connoisseurs will participate in the event while issues and problems that are being faced by local artistes and music maestros will also come under discussion.  

A tribute to those artistes and singers too will be paid who have contributed immensely to the art of singing despite odds and difficult times.
