Department of Pharmacy, University of Peshawar and National TB Control Programme singed a Memorandum of Understanding for the control of Tuberculosis.
As per the MoU around 70,000 pharmacists from all over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will assist the government for the control and elimination of the disease. MoU was signed by acing Vice Chancellor UoP, Professor Dr. Mujeeb Ur Rehman and Project Director NTP Dr. Zia Dawar. Registrar UoP Dr. Syed Fazal e Hadi and Chairman Pharmacy Department Dr. Saeed were also present on this occasion.
On occasion Dr Zia, Project Manager of TB control programme said that there were 0.6 million T.B patients in the country and sixty thousand new patients were registered from Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa. Acting VC, on this occasion, said that most of the medicine stores in the province lack pharmacist and less quality medicines are in market with great numbers. Diagnosing the disease by early registration and awareness programs for medical stores keepers and patients would also be the part of MoU.
