VC urges students to work for their academic growth

In a bid to welcome the new entrants of BS and M. Sc the senior students and faculty of Institute of Chemical Sciences arranged an impressive gathering for the incoming members of ICS family at the Agha Khan Auditorium, University of Peshawar.

Vice Chancellor UoP Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rasul Jan was chief guest of the day while Director ICS Prof. Dr. Imdadullah, faculty staff and good number of students were present on the occasion.

Institute of Chemical Sciences is famous for excellence in academics, and to be part of ICS family ask for a responsibility of taking its academic endeavors to the next level, said the Vice Chancellor in his address to the students. He added Chemistry is a rewarding field and their contribution towards a quest for quality life of planet earth is highly commendable.

Prof. Jan urged the students to live in harmony and not indulge in activities that are counterproductive to their academic growth and character building. He advised the young faculty to prepare for the greater responsibility lying ahead owing to the retirement of senior Professors of ICS in the months to come.

Established in the year 1955 with a mere strength of 48 students the total enrollment has surged to seven hundred in various courses of the Institute of Chemical Sciences, said Director Prof. Dr. Imdadullah. 

He added the Institute is inclined to cater for the academic research needs of the local and national population. We are pooling our resources to emerge as a regional institute of excellence in chemical and applied sciences, he added. Chitral folk dance performed by the students of the institute was the highlight of the day that enthralled the audience. Students shared humor, in their display, unearthing faces of today`s politicians and their lack of interests towards the issues of public at large.
