The youth of FATA in a consultative workshop held in the Archaeology Museum Hall University of Peshawar have unanimously resolved for giving a separate province status to the war torn area to bring economic prosperity in the region. They underlined the need for extending constitution of the country to FATA region to ensure rule of law and justice system while doing away with worn out Frontier Crimes Regulations. The one day workshop entitled, “Voices of FATA Youth in FATA Governance” was jointly organized by the FATA Governance and Development Institute of the University of Peshawar and FATA Secretariat.

The workshop was based on a three pronged solution for the underprivileged area comprising, FATA as an independent province on the model of Gilgit Baltistan, FATA to be merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or to continue with the present system (Status quo). Vice Chancellor UoP Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rasul Jan was the chief guest of the moot. Director General Projects of FATA Secretariat Yousaf Rahim, Dr. Hussain Shaheed Soherwordi and a good number of FATA students studying in UoP were part of the workshop.
